This diploma thesis analyzes legislation governing consumer credit. In the recent past, a notable development has occurred in this particular area of consumer protection, especially in the field of European legislation. This development has also been reflected in the Czech legal system due to the necessity of transposing European directives. This diploma thesis describes the development of consumer credit legislation at European level starting with Directive 87/102/EHS and also by the Consumer Credit Directive and the Mortgage Credit Directive, which is the last legislative act of the Union legislator in this area and in the domestic legal system starting with Act 321/2001, following with Act 145/2010 and finishing with the current legislation by the Consumer Credit Act. The Consumer Credit Act contains a comprehensive regulation of the activities of providing and mediating consumer credit, regulation of entities operating on the consumer credit market as well as rights and obligations in the provision and mediation of consumer credit. The first chapter defines terms needed to understand consumer credit issues such as consumer, credit and consumer credit terms. Vinklárek, F. The impacts of legislation changes on the consumer credit market in the Czech Republic. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The subject of this bachelor thesis is to identify possible impact on the providers, intermediaries and the consumers acting on the credit market in the Czech Repub-lic, based on the analysis of changes in regulations relating to the consumer credit sector. The thesis outlines the main reasons that led to the creation of a new law on consumer credit. Its development is also identified based on the characteristics of the mortgage and consumer market and analysis of statistical data. One of the major changes in the new consumer credit law are the new conditions for early repayment of a mortgage loan. The practical part of the thesis is therefore focused on the identification of the degree of willingness and ability of clients to repay the mortgage loan early, based on a survey of clients with mortgage.

Malovaná, P. The impacts of law on consumer credit Act No 257/2016 Coll. on providers and intermediaries of consumer credit in the Czech Republic. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. The subject of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the main changes in the legislative concerning the providers and intermediaries acting on the consumer credit market in the Czech Republic, and then to identify possible impacts on providers and intermediaries based on this analysis. The thesis specifies the main reasons leading to the creation of a new law on consumer credit. The thesis also describes the characteristics of the consumer credit market prior to the effective date of the Act, as well as the supposed impacts of this Act on providers and intermediaries. Based on the most significant legislative changes which the law has brought for providers and intermediaries, a questionnaire was made and a questionnaire survey was conducted to evaluate the impact of the law.

Analysis of consumer credit in the Czech Republic

This diploma thesis deals with the development of the consumer credit market in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is dedicated to characteristics of consumer credit, its anchoring in the Czech legislation, its types, subjects in the consumer credit market and the credit approval process. The second part analyses the statistical data, shows the development of the consumer credit market and the development of the indebtedness of Czech households. The end of thesis contains an estimate of probable future development of this part of market.
The effect of New Credit Consumer Law on mortgages

The goal of the diploma thesis is to show influence of the new Consumer Credit Law on mortgages in Czech Republic and its effect on real data. The thesis is dealing with issues of mortgages, shows types of mortgages and the possibility of repaid. Description of making deal between bank and client is written in next part of thesis. There are shown parameters like LTV, loan interest rate and RPSN as well as possibilities of insurance of client and secure of mortgage. Practical part of thesis shows difference between new and old Consumer Credit Law on real data, and shows effect on interest rate and number of contracts after effectiveness of the new law. There is written influence of new law on prices of resident estates. Last part of the thesis describes offers of mortgages of selected banks on Czech market.
New mortgage financing rules and their impact on the mortgage market of the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis is focused on the field of mortgage loans and their legislation in the Czech Republic since there have been many changes in this area recently. The market has also been affected by the changes related to the position of the Czech National Bank. The thesis provides insights into the terms associated with the mortgage loans in general. Secondly, it focuses on summary of the most important laws related to the area of mortgage loans. The next part looks at the position of the Czech National Bank and the changes that have been recently brought to the market. Following is the calculation of the annual percentage rate of charge (APR) and demonstration of the risk that results from the changes in legislation of early repayment.
The analysis of the effects of the new law on consumer credit on Czech Republic's mortgage market

The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to study and analyse the effects of the new law no. 257/2016, on consumer credit on mortgage market in the Czech Republic. The thesis is describing the legislative framework of this law containing mortgage loans and the current situation on the czech mortgage market. The practical part is focused on an annual percentage rate of charge. It continues with the evaluation of the changes occurred in supply of credit of the selected banks before and after the new consumer credit law has became effective.

The bachelor thesis deals with consumer loans from regulatory and practical point of view which is described by examples of current range of banking and non-bank providers operating on the Czech financial market. The main objective of the thesis is the comparison to determine the financial advantage of the selected providers and to point out changes relating to the new Consumer Loan Act. In theoretical part I also define the basic concepts related to the chosen topic.

The diploma thesis analyzes the proposed legislation governing the consumer credit. This area of consumer protection is currently undergoing vast evolution throughout the member countries of the European Union due to the obligation to implement the Mortgage Credit Directive 2014/17/EU. The Government of the Czech Republic utilized the legislative opportunity to propose a new act on consumer credit which would not only implement the Mortgage Credit Directive, but also include the regulation under the Consumer Credit Directive 2008/48/ES to provide a new framework encompassing all credit provision and credit intermediation activities and relevant rights and obligations. In addition to the actual examination and description of the proposed legislation, the diploma thesis aims to highlight and evaluate the most significant issues which might cause theoretical or practical interpretation difficulties or in respect of which some differing opinions regarding their interpretation could be met. The methods of systematic analysis, description and comparison with the currently effective legislation were used.
